Although a small country, Costa Rica provides tourists with everything that they could ever want from a tropical holiday paradise. Visitors to Costa Rica can easily get to the mountain ranges and see volcanoes and splendid, dramatic scenery. Not far from the capital city of San José, visitors can see a volcano that last erupted only fifty years ago. Visitors can also see the Poás volcano which is amongst the largest active volcanoes in the world. Arenal is also a popular destination for tourists. Costa Rica also has beautiful forests, some of the most impressive being located in the craters of dormant volcanoes. The highest point at Mount Chirripó is also a fascinating place to visit. Reaching over 12,000 feet, one can see both the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans on a clear day from certain vantage points on its slopes.

Most of Costa Rica’s borders is coastline and the beaches that travelers are greeted with here are amongst the most beautiful in the world. The coast of the country is not widely populated but there are a number of tourism projects that have developed some of the area, providing tourists with the facilities they need. In some ways, the country is a bit like a tropical island, in that a beach is rarely too far away.

One of the most popularly visited destinations in Costa Rica is Jaco Beach, located on the centre of the western coastline of the country. It is also a great place for nightlife due to its closeness to the capital city and the fact that it is easy to get to. For those who want a more lively experience on their travels, Jaco Beach has it all, providing an abundance of entertainment options.

The capital of San José is also regularly visited, offering various activities for travelers as well. This is also the place where most visitors will first arrive.
